It’s a sight to be hold with graves lined with the American flag which volunteers painstakingly solicited then physically place on the graves
.Every year bus tours bring multiple crowds of people to the cemetery on Memorial Day. On average, a group of 500 motorcycle enthusiasts ride in formation and arrive at the cemetery to pay respects to our soldiers. Caravans of cars line roads inside and outside to the cemetery to attend the festivities. Most people choose to spend the day at the cemetery catching up with their military buddies, meeting strangers and forging new relationships.
The group ranges in age representing the multi-generational wars their loved one’s enlisted. From World War II through the Afghanistan war, you will encounter loved ones who lost their kin in one of the above wars. Unfortunately, the parents and siblings who lost a loved one in recent years attend as well.
I encourage all to attend a local regional National Veteran Military Cemetery in your area. You’ll be grateful and more than likely will make it a frequent event every year.
Open on Memorial Day 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Office staff and memorial services are typically only M -F but hold services to the public on Memorial Day.
